| Bought my kit new from the factory. A \'76 Sundowner in metallic blue. Decided not to install the pop up headlights instead went with recessed rectangular Ford’s with Plexiglas covers. Also went to 14" wheels to remove the “roller skate” look from the original VW tires. Drove it from MI to FL and shipped to/from England. Got LOTS of looks over there. I wasn’t too happy with the “band saw finish” of the rear so was in the process of a MAJOR rebuild to improve that and many other “minor” deficiencies. However she still awaits my return from being overseas again.
Plan to finish the rear, improve heating and ventilation, recess front turn signals and parking lights into the fender wells, rebuild rear signals and parking lights and reinforce windows and gull wing doors. |
