| I've had my car since 1992 and its been an experience. I started out with a cracked, weathered and beaten GT that had been through at least 4 other owners and with some help and hard work turned it into a show winner. With the help of my cousin and his autobody shop I added the sport pac and paint job in 95'. I built the engine, added front disk brakes, re-wired the whole car ( without removing the body from the pan - yes it can be done!) and added a ventilation system, 4 speaker stereo & amp, and full neon lighting underneath. The car has been a favorite at local carshows since 95' and so far I'm up to 35 awards and trophies. A Bradley is never really "done", last year it was new seats and carpets, the year before it was the neon, and before that a set of hand polished slotted aluminum wheels. As far as the future, I just got a type 4 Porsche 914 engine and a set of 40mm Dellorto DRLA carbs, I'm not sure how all this is going to fit but if there is a way you can be sure I'll find it! Just one more thing, the 72 Beetle in the car show pics is my "other car", I restored that one from a $400.00 junker, I love driving them both!! |
